The Heliocentric pieces look to capture the memories of the tree in the landscape using physical parts of the oak tree by creating representations encased in resin blocks.

The process involves making a tray and slowly building layers of resin, like strata, then carefully depositing different materials and elements in each. With each layer Mark seals in a memory, or physical artifact gathered from the landscape or tree.

The heliocentric pieces use gold leaf, tin leaf, inkjet transfer, charcoal and oak cubes made from the oak tree.
